Launch into the air!!! What about flying?!
Well, the truth is that I put this photos upside down, as you have probably guessed!
These men are the “Voladores de Papantla” (Flyers of Papantla). It is a ceremony/ritual which has its roots in the pre-Hispanic period and presently best known as associated with the town of Papantla, Veracruz.

Nice!
Thank you!
Wow looks like fun…. ummm …to watch that is,
One can always get in line. Need a ticket?
Wow, they must be very brave
More than one is used too. Thank you for visiting!
Dont think I would like to be on these ropes.
Not like that! Thank you.
VERY clever though!
Not really like superman, but they served the propose!
I saw them fly years ago in Mexico. Really impressive to watch.
Oh they are! and the pole is very very high! Thank you for stopping by.
Great Entry Cedric
Thank you Jake! thank you for your comments

It looks like bungee jumping. What is on their heads? Good one Cedric. Margie
Thank you. They wear an ornament on their heads. Don’t know really why..
haha! Yes, they don’t fly that high when they do!
Thank you for stopping by.

Thats Awesome!!! I like that you put them upside-down so it looked like they were flying!
They do! Not used to that superman custom.. Well, perhaps is just the retro-kind!
Thank you for visiting!
Great entry
Thank YOU! and for stopping by!
I think this is a brilliant interpretation of this week’s subject. You cannot doubt how the photographs fit in with the title “Launch”. Thank you for sharing. I bet these are great to watch, just as they are in the photos.
Thank you for visiting my blog and I look forward to seeing more from you in the weeks to come.
Thank you for stopping by! I thought it would give a better impression if I turned them upside down!

really great interpretation of a launch! I’m so glad wordpress kept these weekly challenges going in the new year!!
Thank you and yes, if they didn’t keep the challenges we as users would! Thank you for stopping by!
nice take on “launch” up side down or heading straight up – does not matter.
eitherway this is a true launch !!!
It looks like right? Thank you!!!
Truly brilliant Cedric! Just one question and probably a silly one, what stops them from crashing into the post?
The post is totally vertical. I skew it a little bit in the photograph. So they spin and spin and the centrifugal force keeps them away from the pole.
Thank you!

Thank you for stopping by. I have heard that what one need to do, is that one has to trust the rope… Very challenging for oneself!
Hey friend, what an amazing idea! You’ve put the photo upside down and it seems that they are diving from sky. Really excellent.
I’ll also try out this.:)
Thank you! You see… falling can be like flying. It depends on your point of view!

Haha no problem, Cedric!
By the way, I am working on a post about Why We Blog and am asking bloggers if they could give me maybe a 3-5 sentence answer (could be shorter or longer really) to the question: Why do you blog? I would quote you and put a link to your blog of course. Would you mind participating in this? Thanks so much!
I’m in! What’s to do? Cheers!
oh man it almost made me scream just looking at it…..they are either brave or crazy, right? Superb photos and interpretation of the launch theme. love it!!
thank you! I think moving them around (turning them upside down) made the trick!
I’d be launching my lunch doing that!
upside down or downside up?

I remember seeing these guys, well not these guys, but when I was younger my family would go to the festival in Mexico. They are pretty amazing to see. I miss the old days.
