    1. The story about the Virgin of Guadalupe is very very interesting.

For short, a peasant Juan Diego saw a lady on a Hill. She told him that she wanted a church to be built in that place…. Juan Diego went to the Archbishop and told him what had happened and the Archbishop told Juan Diego to go back and ask her for some kind of proof. He went back to the virgin…

“The Virgin told Juan Diego to gather flowers from the top of Tepeyac Hill. Although December was very late in the growing season for flowers to bloom, Juan Diego found Castilian roses, not native to Mexico, on the normally barren hilltop. The Virgin arranged these in his peasant tilma cloak. When Juan Diego opened his cloak before Bishop Zumárraga on December 12, the flowers fell to the floor, and in their place on the fabric was the image of the Virgin of Guadalupe, miraculously imprinted there.”

That is why the virgin is surrounded by roses…

There is more, I might write a post about this sometime.

      Thank you!
