Launch into the air!!! What about flying?!
Well, the truth is that I put this photos upside down, as you have probably guessed! 🙂
These men are the “Voladores de Papantla” (Flyers of Papantla). It is a ceremony/ritual which has its roots in the pre-Hispanic period and presently best known as associated with the town of Papantla, Veracruz.

The post is totally vertical. I skew it a little bit in the photograph. So they spin and spin and the centrifugal force keeps them away from the pole. 🙂 Thank you!

I remember seeing these guys, well not these guys, but when I was younger my family would go to the festival in Mexico. They are pretty amazing to see. I miss the old days.
